Protected Species Surveys

These surveys are conducted by qualified, licensed ecologists using recognised methodologies to determine whether species such as bats, great crested newts, badgers, birds, reptiles, and other protected fauna inhabit or utilise a development site.

Preliminary Ecological Appraisal

A Preliminary Ecological Appraisal (PEA) is the first step in assessing the ecological value of a site, combining a desktop study with a walkover habitat survey to identify key habitats, potential ecological constraints and the likelihood of protected species being present.

A Biodiversity Net Gain (BNG) Assessment is a systematic evaluation that measures the impact of a development project on local biodiversity. It ensures that any loss of habitat is compnsated for by enhancing or creating new habitats that result in a measurable increase in biodiversity.
